Because He Lives

ApologetiX gets their unusual name from the word "apologetics" which means "the defense of the Christian faith." It's based on the Greek word for defense, apologia, which is in the original text of this Bible verse from the Apostle Peter:

1 Peter 3:15
"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer (or defense or "apologia") to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect."

ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band) specializes in Biblical parodies of rock hits from yesterday
and today, including everything from Elvis to Eminem. It's kind of like "Weird Al" Yankovic meets Billy
Graham. In fact, Weird Al's drummer, Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz, plays on one of the band’s CDs.

ApologetiX has a simple, two-fold mission: to reach the lost and teach the rest. The band takes its
name from the word "apologetics,” meaning the defense of the Christian faith (1 Peter 3:15). Worldrenowned
author and apologetics expert Josh McDowell said this about them: "What a thrill to work
with 'that Christian parody band’ ApologetiX ... The band distinguished themselves from other Christian
musicians by including Bible Scripture in all of their lyrics, high-energy evangelism, and humor that
was enjoyed by all ages. I can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone."

ApologetiX released its 18th CD “Soundproof” in November 2010, followed by an 11-CD compilation
series titled “ApologetiX Classics” in December 2010. ApologetiX CDs are available at Christian
bookstores throughout the United States, plus stores in Canada, Australia, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
They can also be purchased online at apologetix.com and christianbook.com. Stores can order them
through Wesscott Marketing (1-800-375-3702) and all major Christian distributors. ApologetiX songs
are also available on iTunes and all other major download services.

In September 2004, ApologetiX received the American Christian Music awards for Alternative Artist of
the Year and Alternative Song of the Year. In February 2005, ApologetiX was named Favorite Indie
Artist in the CCM Magazine Readers' Choice Awards. In December 2005, ApologetiX won the Best
Album award in Christianity Today's 2005 Readers' Choice Christian Music Awards. The band also
has a fast-growing online fan club with about 70,000 members of all ages.

Parodies by ApologetiX have been heard on thousands of radio stations worldwide, including the
Monumental Airshow (500 stations), K-LOVE network (150-plus stations), and the Salem Broadcasting
Network (100-plus stations). ApologetiX has been interviewed many times on the top drive-time
Christian radio audience in the country, KKLA’s afternoon-drive show in Los Angeles. They've also
been featured on radio programs as diverse as The Howard Stern Show, Billy Graham’s “Decision
Today," and "The Dr. Demento Show."

ApologetiX has appeared on many national television programs, including The 700 Club, JC-TV
(Trinity Broadcasting Network), 100 Huntley Street, The Rick & Bubba Show, Janet Parshall's America,
His Place, and Getting Together (Cornerstone Broadcasting Network).

ApologetiX has been the subject of many articles in Focus on the Family’s "Plugged In" magazine and
has also been written about in Christianity Today, Campus Life, CCM, Charisma, HM, Christian
Musician, The American Family Association Journal, The L.A. Times, Wireless Age, and USA Today.

ApologetiX tours extensively and has played about 1300 concerts in all 50 U.S. states plus Canada,
including 37 states in 2010 alone. ApologetiX has played most major U.S. Christian music festivals,
including Alive, Atlantafest, Creation, Cornerstone, Downpour, God-Stock, Grace, Kingdom Bound,
LiFest, Lifelight, Powerfest, Rise Above, Shout, Sonshine, SoulFest, SoulStock, Spiritfest Midwest,
Spirit West Coast, etc. They've also played at numerous large secular events, including NBA and
Major League Baseball games, plus many city/county-sponsored events around the country.

Although ApologetiX generally tours with five members at a time, there are actually six members in the
band: lead singer/lyricist J. Jackson, lead guitarists Tom Milnes and Tom Tincha, bassist Keith
Haynie, keyboardist/producer Bill Hubauer, and drummer Jimmy “Vegas” Tanner. They are all fathers
and family men, with 17 children among them. All of the band members grew up in and around
Pittsburgh PA, and that is where they make their homes and attend church.
